Back to the 50ies!

In April I met two wonderful girls, Shirley & Kat, at the Emilie Autumn concert. They both had an awesome style and were really nice. After talking for a while and (sadly) missing some opportunities to meet them again, we had a picnic last Saturday. And as you know me, always wanting to take photos, I asked them for a photoshooting. Since I'm not good at giving instructions for poses yet, I just told them to 'do anything they want' - which led to some really funny moments and nice photos! :) Turned out to be my best shooting so far - and I'm not only writing this because they both made delicious food for our picnic ;)

We took almost 800 photos that day. 330 were left after choosing the ones I liked. Still way too much to edit them all. Chose favourites again, and here you can find the results! :)

P.S.: Their 50ies look is so great! *love*

Probably my favourite :)

Japanischer Kulturtag

Last week we had our "Japanischer Kulturtag" (~ Japanese culture day), an event also known as the "Kirschblütenfest" (~ celebration of the cherry blossom) even though the cherry blossoms are long gone. Basically there are several activities going on about Japan: they show different sports, you can learn about ink painting etc pp. This year we also had a little photography exhibition about the tsunami & earthquake.

Also, you can paint lanterns for the Tōrō nagashi (a Japanese ceremony) too. Around 22:30 PM they set off fireworks on the Alster. All in all, it's quite nice and I've been going there for years now.

This time I tried taking photos too, but I didn't like them that much.. so most of the photos in this entry are actually just flowers from the Planten & Blomen xD

I liked the hearts. They also had smiley faces but couldn't capture those.

Hafengeburtstag

Last week we celebrated our "Hafengeburtstag", the birthday of the harbour in Hamburg. I really like the harbour in general, and lately I've visited it quite often on Sunday mornings. Of course a walk around there in the morning is in no way similar to an event like the Hafengeburtstag. As always, there were lots of people - though I only visited it on Sunday evening and missed the first two days this time, but I'm guessing that Friday and Saturday were just as crowded! You'll find lots of nice food there, so hard to resist buying them all! Pretty sure that Roxi's strawberry & white chocolate crepe wins the food competition!

Apart from the nice food we enjoyed the sunny weather and I used that day to take photos again. Actually I like how most of the photos turned out, didn't expect that while taking them :) I edited some of my favourites and hope you like them too!

Long Night of Museums

On 28th April there was an annual event called "Long Night of Museums" in Hamburg. I always wanted to go there the past years but never made it. This year, I met with Roxi, Yuriya & Patrick to visit a total of 6 museums in 7 hours :) It was a lot of fun and I'll definitely try to go again next year!

Here are just a few photos I took that day (most of them sadly didn't turn out the way I wanted them to).
